At Holme on Spalding Moor Primary, we are committed to ensuring that every child, regardless of their individual needs or abilities, has the opportunity to thrive and achieve their full potential. Our approach to Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) is inclusive, supportive, and child-centred. We work closely with pupils, parents, and external professionals to provide tailored support that meets each learner’s unique needs. Through high-quality teaching, personalised interventions, and a nurturing environment, we aim to remove barriers to learning and promote independence, confidence, and success for all.

Miss Swaby works in school full time and can be contacted throughout the school day either via email – hosm.send@eastriding.gov.uk - or by calling the school office.

_______ is the governor with specific responsibility for SEND; she oversees the school's SEND offer and helps to evaluate its effectiveness.

Support at Holme on Spalding Moor

We offer a range of targeted intervention support and adaptations to support the needs of all our pupils. These are organised in a number of ways dependent on the level and type of need.

Universal Offer: Quality First Teaching

We believe every pupil deserves the highest quality of teaching. Our teachers are dedicated to delivering lessons that are engaging, meaningful, and carefully adapted to meet each child’s stage of learning.

Additional/Targeted Support

At times, some pupils may benefit from targeted, short-term interventions designed to accelerate progress or help them achieve age-related expectations. These interventions are usually delivered in small groups, focusing on children with similar learning needs.

Specialist Support

At this stage, support is carefully personalised to help accelerate progress and ensure each child can reach their full potential. Often, this support is guided by external specialists, such as a Speech and Language Therapist or an Educational Psychologist.
